Finding the right private autism assessment service can feel a little overwhelming. That’s why Emma and her colleagues provide simple, easy-to-choose options for consultancy and assessment – with a clear pricing structure so there are no hidden surprises.

Our assessment process is comprehensive, undertaken by experienced clinicians and provides you with a high-quality, tailored report, outlining our professional recommendations for the support you need moving forward, as well as detailed information on the diagnostic process undertaken. All information in the assessment is presented in a clear and easy-to-follow format, ideal for a variety of audiences – from friends and family, to workplaces, schools and other healthcare professionals.

Please note: Before starting your private assessment journey, you need to check that your local services – GP / NHS healthcare professionals / school / education authority – will accept a private assessment’s recommendations for your future support.

Autism Referral Triage (ART) - £250

The ART is an initial consultation conducted online with a clinician, with the purpose of assisting people who are struggling to be referred for a full autism assessment by their current healthcare provider.

This pre-assessment meeting will help ascertain whether further, more formal assessment is required.

Once completed, we will provide you with a report, which will document our initial findings and outline any recommendations we may have for further assessment – with a view to putting you on the path to a formal diagnosis, if appropriate. There is no obligation to continue any further assessment with our service and the report can be used for future referrals either through the NHS or other private clinics.

Please note, the ART is not a formal diagnosis of autism, but constitutes a referral report on whether further assessment would be recommended and/or appropriate.

Our full Autism Assessment, listed below, includes the ART as part of the diagnostic process.

Autism Assessment - from £2500

We provide an autism assessment service for children, young people and adults. We use a multi-stage diagnostic process to assess for autism – using the ADI-R (Autism Diagnostic Interview - Revised) and ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule) diagnostic tools to provide a service that is fully informed by the latest NICE guidelines.

Once completed, we will provide you with a comprehensive report outlining our findings, providing a diagnostic decision and highlighting our recommendations for any future support from your local healthcare and educational services.

Our assessments can either be conducted in-person at a London location or online via videocall.

The final cost of this assessment can vary with the complexity of the case, but will always be communicated to you prior to booking.

It’s perfectly normal to have a lot of questions before and after you undertake any kind of assessment – and your autistic journey is no different. Below are a few Frequently Asked Questions. We always provide you with full information at every step of the process, but you can always contact us if you have any questions or queries regarding your assessment.

Why is a formal diagnosis important?
Getting a formal diagnosis can be a huge milestone for some people. It can feel like all the questions you’ve asked about yourself during your life have finally been answered. It also might not feel like that – and there’s no right or wrong way to react. A formal diagnosis can also help you get the support and advice you need from healthcare providers, schools, workplaces etc, and it may help other people to understand more about you and be more able to provide you with reasonable accommodations that improve your quality of life.

What about other mental health and/or neurodevelopmental conditions?
While Emma and her colleagues specialise in autism, they have extensive understanding of other mental health and neurodevelopmental conditions – and know how they can impact upon assessments and getting the right diagnosis. With a wealth of experience, we are able to tease apart complex and connected issues and provide you with a final report that brings all the pieces together to create the most accurate diagnosis possible. In addition, we work closely with a number of other highly respected clinicians specialising in a variety of other mental health and neurodevelopmental conditions and can provide no-obligation recommendations and/or referrals as appropriate.

Is there anything I need to do to prepare for assessment?

Aside from the completion of pre-assessment questionnaires, no specific preparation is necessary for an assessment itself - although your assigned clinician may ask participants to think about specific topics ahead of the assessment. It is also important to check whether your local healthcare service, education authority etc will accept a private assessment as a referral to getting the support you need in the future.

What happens once I have a diagnosis?
Our reports are written to help you get the support you need from those around you. A diagnosis can mean that you are able to get access to specific healthcare services, or that a school or workplace can provide you with a formal network of support and assistance. It also helps healthcare professionals to identify how best to help you with other issues in the future. Most importantly, it can help you understand and fully appreciate who you are and how you fit into the world.
